If 8 additional production-line workers were to be hired, the ratio of the number of managers to the production-line workers would be 5 to 74. How many managers does the company have ?

Solution Answer: B Let the initial manager = 5x and production line worker =72x If 8 more workers are to be hired..then production line worker = 72x+8 Such that the ratio becomes 5/74. Now, according to question, 5x/(72x+8) = 5/74 => x = 4. Hence, the number of manager company has = 5x = 20.
